Nothing worse. I swore no more dogs...too painful. Then through a series of events and strange coincidences, I adopted Mandy from Lucky Lab Rescue last November just in time for my 50th birthday. There isn't a day goes by that when I look into her eyes she gives me that look that says thank you for saving me. She needed me as much as I needed her. I had always had pure breds and this time I decided it was time to roll the dice. I'm so glad I did. I hope in time you will feel the same way and honor your old best friend by adopting a new one.
