Rotary Slicer-Professional Results

People often wonder how Professional Chefs achieve such such great results? We have lots of secrets without a doubt.  Some are technique, some are seasoning and choosing the right ingredients.

Sometime it’s a matter of choosing the right tool for the job. The Rotary slicer is an amazing tool for making fancy, consistent cuts of vegetables and easy enough anyone can do it!

In a Professional Kitchen such as The Lark we used a Professional Spiral vegetable slicer such as this one: J.B. Prince S/S Professional Spiral Vegetable Slicer 430014

A great tool for the kitchen, but at a price tag in the $300 dollar range it’s a very pricey piece of kitchen wear for occasional use. You can however get the same results using a Benriner Cook Helper Slicer at the $37 price range its a very affordable way for the at home chef to achieve professional results!

In my video I will demonstrate how to cut vegetables into various sizes of continuous julienne and flat ribbons that present beautifully when used in various dishes. Use for salads, garnishes, birds nests, french fries and potato chips. The slicer comes equipped with very sharp blades. Fine, medium and course. The body of the Benriner slicer however is made of ABS plastic and durable nylon, which while very cleanable you should be careful not to break it.  With care it should last a very long time and be very useful in your kitchen! You could spend $300 for the stainless steel pro model but you don’t need to.
